This is pretty significate so felt it should be shared. The VA Canteen stores have partnered with AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange Service) Catalog to provide online shopping for Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system (if you have a VIC - a Veterans Identification Card - you're enrolled)

you can call 800-745-9707 or 800-527-2345 (registration & authentication) to check your eligibility to shop with the VA canteen service (social security number, date of birth (yyyy/mm/dd), and address)

So if you miss shopping at the Base, Post, or Navy Exchange (yes, no sales tax!), check this out.
